Data annotation
Labelling data such as images, text or audio so machine learning models can be trained on it.
Data annotation is the work of labelling raw data, images, text, audio or video, so that machine learning models can learn from it. Accurate labels are the foundation of an accurate model, which is why annotation quality matters as much as quantity.
It is a common entry point for AI outsourcing because it is labour-intensive, needs quality control and benefits from a trained, managed team. Good annotation programmes build in guidelines, review steps and measurable accuracy targets.
